HPTT Goal 2: Innovation in Teaching
Design effective learning environment using a variety of interactive educational and multimedia strategies which engage the learner in interdisciplinary and collaborative activities.
Reflection on the HPTT Goal 2 Innovation in Teaching allowed me to integrate two artifacts from two different courses. The Simulation Project is from Course 824 and the Lesson Plan is from Course 802. Utilizing the social cognitive theory through the simulation project engages the learner in collaborative activities. Adult learners require strategies to engage with peers through observation and practice. Simulation is an emerging technology that can combine best practices for learner engagement in a low risk environment. The lesson plan outlines several learning activities that encourage social collaborative learning, and increase the effectiveness of the learning environment.
